Brian Otiende

Environmental Scientist

Brian Otiende is an Environmental Scientist with an MSc in Managing Environmental Change from the University of St Andrews (UK)

and is a registered Environmental Impact Assessment Expert in Kenya. He is currently engaged as the Climate Change Coordinator with the Arusha-based East African Community (EAC) Secretariat in Tanzania where he is coordinating multiple climate change donor-funded projects.

He is also contributing to the Implementation of the EAC Climate Change Policy, Climate Change Strategy and Master Plan and operationalization of the EAC Climate Change Fund. In addition, he is providing strategic and technical advisory to National and Regional Programming as well as supporting accreditation of regional institutions to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

He previously worked for Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI), Oxfam and African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS).
